I marked this page in Domino magazine when I first read this July/August 2006 issue. I was totally struck by Orla Kiely's use of color in her home. see here bigger.



This past week, I have been going through all my old magazines and compiling my favourite tears into a binder for easy reference. A year later, I am inspired all over again with this spread. I love everything about it, the dark wood floors, the white and warm grey walls. The strong, bold colors. The mix of vintage and modern. I really feel as though I have found a stle I can work with. I can easily see mixing in little vintage and rustic details.

I found these on Craigslist today. I can't get them, I have no space for them. But can't you see them possibly painted a dark color with a bold graphic cushion? Plus, this cushion would be so easy to recover yourself.
